HI there one and all.
I have had my 2009 Forester Diesel for the past 2 years and just recently the engine has become very noisy when cold, after the engine is truly up to temperature the noise subsides.
This happened one very cold morning recently, I herd an instant noise level change immediately after stating the engine one morning, normally its reasonably quiet (for a diesel) but ever since the engine when cold sounds like a bag of nails (a really loud tappet type noise).
Doe this engine have a type of pre feed oil pump to the crank as this ceasing to work seems the most logical answer to me (someone with very little mechanical knowledge).
Does anyone know of a Subaru specialist near to south Suffolk as my local main dealer's prices are astronomical.
Thanks in advance for any info.
