2002 Turbo uneven running when cold...

...and lighting its engine management light. When cold the engine 'hunts' at idle speed and sounds like it's on 3 cylinders, but smoothes out when the throttle is blipped. When warmed up it idles evenly.


Also the fault code P0340 is on the ECU - clearing it makes the EML go out -  but not for long it's back within minutes. Wondering whether the two snags are linked? I'm about to change the cam sensor in response to P0340 - but before I do, wondered whether anyone has any experience of this? Any intel/suggestions gratefully received.

Camshaft position sensor probably on the way out.


Or an engine grounding issue. Check all your earth straps etc to engine and battery and try again.

2004 FSTI, Modified 2006 Impreza, 1963 VW beetle. All on the road for once! Woo hoo! :)
