One of the things that had annoyed me in a niggling sort of way about the FSTi since I first got it (along with the crap sub, tyre noise etc.) is the immensely dim reversing lights. Tried various LED bulbs from the Bay of fleas which varied from not much brighter than the usual bulbs to seriously crap :nea: . Finally the other week work being a bit quieter than usual I decide it was time for a "hobby hour" or two and set about curing this. A bit of 5/8 ali rod, some cutting edge LED chips (I've been working on streetlights recently) much machining and soldering and I ended up with a couple of these:

They seem to do the job too: 800 odd lumens, at last I can see when going backwards even when it's raining :yahoo: . To give an indication of the brightness, here's a pic with one new, one old:

Bloody hell!! That's not a 'normal' hobby hour!
